Hotel Accommodations, Travel, and Health and Safety

Please book your room at the conference hotel, The Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park. The Fairmont is located one block from the 50th Anniversary Gala venue and within short walking distance from Lake Michigan, Millennium Park, and many local attractions, shopping, and restaurants.

Air Travel

Chicago is served by two major airports: O’Hare International and Chicago Midway International. Midway is the major hub for Southwest Airlines. All other airlines will fly through O’Hare. Travel time to/from the airports varies based on time of day, but we recommend allowing one hour of travel time.

Ground Transportation

Taxi/Rideshare

Taxis are available on the baggage claim level at both O’Hare and Midway airports. Fares generally range between $45 - $60 (plus gratuity).

Rideshare services Uber and Lyft are available at either airport.

Private Car Service

For private car service, we recommend Pontarelli Chicago or Windy City Limousine.

Public Transportation

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) offers frequent and affordable service via the ”L” trains from both airports. The CTA Blue Line runs from O’Hare, and the CTA Orange Line runs from Midway. Please visit https://www.transitchicago.com/ for details.

Parking

The Fairmont Chicago offers valet parking available both to overnight guests and to local guests who wish to park for the day. All Spencer Foundation guests receive a 20% discount off the standard rate. The current rate for a full day or for overnight is $77.00. If you are a hotel guest, parking will be billed to your room. If you are a local guest parking for the day, mention that you are a Spencer Foundation guest when you check out with the valet service.

Valet parking will be available at the Millennium Park Rooftop Terrace for guests who are attending only the Gala.
